Our Story
Three Decades of Heavy Transport
ATOL is a surface transportation company built around cargo that most operators are not equipped to carry. Since 1988 we have moved heavy, over-dimensional and bulk commercial consignments for Indian manufacturers and multinationals — machinery and plant equipment, structural steel and fabricated assemblies, industrial raw material, defence and project cargo, and import/export consignments moving between ports, plants and sites.
The work is planned before it is priced. Cargo weight and dimensions determine the vehicle; the route determines the permits, the escorts and the survey required to clear it. That sequence is why an ODC consignment leaving a plant in Mumbai arrives at a site in Ladakh intact and on the date committed, and it is the reason clients hand us their most difficult movements rather than their easiest ones.
Our operation runs on an owned and attached fleet — open trucks, closed bodies, trailers, multi-axles and containerised carriers — supported by branches across every major industrial corridor in the country. Each consignment is assigned a named coordinator who stays with it from loading through to placement at the consignee site, so there is one person accountable rather than a queue of desks.
We are not a courier and we do not handle small parcels. What we do is move the loads that decide whether a plant commissions on schedule, a project stays on programme and a production line keeps running.

Milestones So Far
Founded as a partnership firm at Masjid, Mumbai, by Mr Rajendra Kumar Agarwal and Mr K. C. Shekhar, carrying industrial cargo out of the city.
Converted into a private limited company as the client base extended beyond Maharashtra.
Converted into a public limited company.
Network reached 28 branch offices across India, supported by a first owned fleet of 20 vehicles.
Record top-line revenue, an owned fleet of 200 vehicles and a workforce of 550 — with heavy and project cargo established as the core of the business.
